Hello! My name is Spencer, and I’m the author of spencercoxphoto.com. This is where I write about landscape photography for anyone who wants to learn, from the basics to the most advanced techniques. Thanks for visiting.
I’m a landscape photographer who teaches and works in the field for a living. My photos have been exhibited worldwide, including at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in 2015 and 2016. I also write for the website photographylife.com, one of the largest photographic resources online, where I have published more than 100 articles to date. Everything I teach is based upon my own experiences, and I use these tips myself almost daily.
When it comes down to it, landscape photography is not all that difficult. The problem is that there is an extraordinary amount of content online that is only “vaguely correct,” which is hard to separate from carefully researched and field-tested techniques. The same goes for a huge number of articles online that are hidden, sponsored posts, intended to sell a product rather than provide useful information. That makes it very, very tricky to get a good grasp on everything you need to know.
So, my goal with this website is to be as complete and accurate as possible, holding everything I write to the highest standards. I encourage readers to contact me if they notice an error in something I’ve written, and I’ll fix any issues without hesitation. There are no ads or affiliate links on this site, and it is very important to me that I avoid spreading false information. I hope that is clear by the articles I write.
If you would like to see some of my photos before checking out this website’s tutorials, you’re welcome to check out the photos in my online gallery). Otherwise, feel free to explore the site! I hope that you find the tips useful, and that you learn something new along the way. Landscape photography is an amazing field, and one that is truly rewarding. For your own photography, I wish you the best of luck, and the best of light.
